The Institute of Medicine has found enough evidence to link asbestos to Laryngeal Cancer. The Senate requested that the institute further investigate the connection between the commonly used material and other cancers.

A government expert panel on Tuesday added cancer of the larynx to the list of ailments directly linked to asbestos exposure but said there was less evidence tying the mineral to a variety of other cancers.
